. dallas, sunny and 76. clouds and sunny in l.a., 76. a nor'easter is forecast to hit the northeast. expect strong winds, beach erosion, shore line flooding and a storm surge of up to four feet. up to three inches of rain is possible for parts of new england. snow could drop from delaware to maine. the rest of the country is expected to be dry, but there could be rain and mountain snow showers from tennessee to georgia and heavy snow and blizzard conditions are expected in the northern rockies. hurricane sandy made voting very difficult for millions of voters especially in new york and new jersey. polling stations were relocated and even voters without power managed to cast their ballots. >> reporter: bill left home on his bicycle in search of a place to vote. >> just circling around and figuring out where the biggest spots were where people could be. >> reporter: these tents marked the spot where residents of the devastated rockaways are casting their ballots. >> i didn't think i'd get an opportunity to vote. i thought they were going to pass up the voting for the whole entire area. >> rep

hours. we've seen temperatures drop by about 10 to almost 20 degrees. dallas is nearly 20 degrees cooler than it was just this time yesterday. so we are only going to top out in the lower 30s across minneapolis, into chicago today, about 35 degrees. kansas city, 48. but denver, should top out around 70 degrees. you can obviously see where the warm air is located. we do have some warm air moving into the pacific northwest. also some snow showers across montana. but today the big story will be the 3 to 6 inches of snow possible all through the great lakes from cleveland, ohio, e e erie, pennsylvania, up into buffalo, new york. anywhere off lake ontario we will see some of that lake-effect snow and the northern peninsula of michigan, as well. we are going to see the lake-effect snow linger through the day today, even into tomorrow. temperatures in the northeast will be in the 40s. a little cool. down across the southeast we'll top out in the 50s and 60s. but the warm spot, again, back into colorado with highs today topping out in the lower 70s. alex? >> okay. dylan, thank you so much for t

for dallas and also into portions of san antonio, across texas. this frontal system is producing a lot of precipitation as well. cold side, we have very heavy snow, over a foot of snow. ahead of it with that warm air, we have showers and thunderstorms. some of these storms could produce severe weather. we're keeping a watch on that. severe thunderstorm watch in effect across southeastern portions of nebraska and also across portions of kansas. includes wichita. the storms could produce damaging wind gusts, large hail and even some isolated tornadoes. keep an eye on that. this area will expand to include portions of southern minnesota, in through parts of northern texas. pretty wide area here that we're looking at, the possibility of severe weather throughout the nighttime hours tonight and the rest of the evening and tomorrow as the storm continues to push eastward, we will be looking at severe weather possible across eastern portions of texas through parts of louisiana and arkansas. rick? >> rick: lot of activity. maria, thanks. >> arthel: new details now emerging about the resignatio
